Working Examples of the Evolution Aqua K+Advanced Filter Filtration Systems can be seen at Cascade Koi & Aquatics, they arek+advanced filter, evolution bead filter exceptional when used as a bacterial filter after a Burtons Drum Filter.

• Manufactured to last using latest rotational moulding process for peace of mind
• Supplied with advanced  K+Media, delivering enhanced mechanical and biological filtration
• Economical to run. The filter has been engineered to maximise pump efficiency
• The colour matches existing Evolution Aqua filters
• Easy to operate and clean, with pipework, blower and multiport valve supplied.

These game changing filtration systems completely re-invent the way we think about bead filters. Rather than using conventional beads as their principle filter media, our filters use K1 Micro.

Evolution Aqua K+Advanced Filter offers a whole range of benefits over beads including:
improved biological filtration
better mechanical filtration
 improved flow
reduced back pressure on pumps
increased protected surface area
improved internal design
re-designed internal pipework

Manufactured to Last

Manufactured in the UK by Evolution Aqua, the K+Advanced Filter is produced using rotational moulding process; the body is made of a single homogenous material meaning there is no joint line, the wall thickness is consistent throughout, there are no weak points, and the feet are built-in as part of the body. This means that the K+Advanced Filter is extremely durable and has the same attractive granite grey colour finish as the other filters in the Evolution Aqua family.

Best-in-Class Filtration Media

The benefits of using K+Media  have been well documented since its launch in 2019, including its ability to filter particles down to one micro. The design and profile of the media helps to improve flow, its vast protected surface area of 1,025m2 per m3, or the total area of 5x tennis courts, maintains stable bio-films and its unique manufacturing process where minerals and enzymes are added during the extrusion process, ensure K+Media matures faster than any other type of filtration media. Evolution Aqua's filter media has also been independently tested to verify its performance by IFTS and Cranfield University.

Peace of Mind

Because Evolution Aqua are in control of the manufacturing process they can put the filters through rigorous testing and quality control checks before leaving the factory. K+Advanced Filters are rated to a maximum working pressure of 1.5 bar, however they have been factory tested up to 2.5 bar and have passed a 10,000 cycle pressure test.

Economical to Run

To optimise performance, there are unique double laterals inside the filter that help to improve flow through the bed of K+Media, that is supplied with every filter. This laminar flow, coupled with the use of K+Media reduces back pressure on the circulating pump, ultimately making K+Advanced Filters one of the most economical filters to run.

Easy as 1-2-3

They are simple to install and can be used as a standalone filter or as part of a larger filtration system with a Nexus+ or on a skimmer line. The K+Advanced Filters are incredibly easy to clean and are supplied with K+Media, pipework, air blower and multiport valve.

How K+Advanced Filters work?

Water is pumped into the filter from the pond, through the multi-port valve where the internal pipework directs the water to the bottom laterals.

As the water flows upwards inside the K+Advanced Filter, dirt, debris and waste are trapped within the mass of K+Media that floats at the top of the filter. The vast protected surface area provided by K+Media also provides a home for beneficial bacteria, delivering mechanical and biological filtration.
The filtered water flows back through the laterals and pipework at the top of the filter, through the multi-port valve and back down the return line into the pond.
The K+Advanced Filter, is incredibly easy to clean by simply moving the handle on the multi-port valve into the corresponding positions to perform a backwash and rinse which flushes out the waste trapped inside.

How to install K+Advanced Filters?

The K+Advanced Filter can be installed as shown if you are planning to use a pre-filter such as the Evolution Aqua Cetus Sieve. If you are not planning to use a pre-filter we highly recommend that you fit a strainer basket to the pump. This will prevent leaves, string algae etc. from entering the filter and pump.

*It is recommended that all pipework on the pump side (from the pump to the filter and back to the pond) is installed on 2” pipe. Please note on the K+Advanced Filter 20 you will have to reduce your pipe down to 1½” to connect to the multiport valve. This will ensure that your pump is working at its maximum flow.

Do not operate the multiport valve with the circulating pump switched on. The air blower ball valve must be closed when the circulating pump is running.

How to install K+Advanced Filter On A Skimmer Line? The K+Advanced Filter can be installed as shown on a skimmer line.

What is the recommended flow rate for the K Advanced Filter?

We specify optimum flow rates for the K+Advanced Filters: - 6,000 litres per hour for the 20" K+Advanced Filter - 12,000 litres per hour for the 24" K+Advanced Filter - 18,000 litres per hour for the 30" K+Advanced Filter - 30,000 litres per hour for the 36" K+Advanced Filter

Do I need a high pressure circulation pump?

No, one of the great advantages of the K+Advanced Filters is they produce very little back pressure, so you can use a lower wattage pump saving you money!
